Broadcast Media Manager

A member of the EVR Media Group (EVRMG), the Broadcast Media Manager takes a lead role in strategizing and developing all broadcast media planning activities for EVR’s growing client base. To be successful in this role, the optimal candidate must possess strong planning and collaboration skills, an ability to integrate with the work of multiple individuals and familiarity with all broadcast media types including radio, TV, print, OOH, OTT, digital audio, sponsorships and some forms of programmatic media buying. This position requires leadership skills, communication skills, an analytical mindset and ability to multitask in a fast-paced agency environment.

Broadcast Media Planning and Strategy (70%)

  • Represent the broadcast media discipline at EVR Advertising.
  • Research and determine the best media mix for a diverse set of client accounts, all with various audiences, targeting requirements and goals.
  • Collaborate with account staff and EVRMG team members to analyze media briefs, review potential KPIs and generate strategic media plans.
  • Design and review advertising budgets in collaboration with the account staff and EVRMG.
  • Plan all strategy, channel selection and media rationale for broadcast, traditional and tradigital channels.
  • Input traditional media buys into and oversee use of media planning software.
  • Build long-term relationships with media reps and negotiate all media contracts to close competitive deals.
  • In addition to securing paid media, negotiate added value opportunities on behalf of clients.
  • Optimize advertising strategies for varying audiences and channels on an ongoing basis.
  • Participate in client-facing presentations, pitches and delivery of strategy, plans and reports.
  • Manage the implementation of traditional/traditional media buys, ensuring that vendors deliver on what was agreed upon.
  • Assist the Director of Media with ways to optimize and streamline traditional reporting.
  • Assist in the development and production of proposals and pitches as needed.
  • Stay up to date on the latest inventory in client markets with a general understanding of media costs.

Department Leadership (15%)

  • Be the spokesperson for broadcast media strategy, helping to influence and educate team members, share ideas, identify opportunities and meet unspoken needs.
  • Connect internal EVR teams based on opportunities for collaboration.
  • Assign tasks to Media Traffic Coordinator and guide their ongoing professional development.
  • Set and maintain high bar for quality and be an advocate for positive change.
  • Play key role in media planning brainstorms to help connect broadcast, digital and creative strategies.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating how to work on the media planning process efficiently and strategically.
  • Be a resource for account staff and client inquiries into campaign performance.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communication or similar field.
  • Proven work experience as a Broadcast Media Buyer, Traditional Media Buyer, Media Planner or similar role.
  • Expertise in broadcast media or traditional media, including planning, buying and negotiation.
  • Knowledge of all different types of media channels.
  • Strong budget planning skills and ability to manage and combine data.
  • Demonstrable experience with building effective advertising campaigns.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • A strong self-development sense, fostering personal growth as well as employee growth.
  • Self-starter, with a strong willingness to see projects through from start to completion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
